A thoroughly excellent book. This book tells you everything you need to know about model aeroplane design from an aerodynamic perspective and covers the subject in a technical, yet fairly easy-to-understand way. It does not shy away from the science, and covers wing design in considerable detail. Graphs of lift/drag data for several aerofoil sections are included. The book covers the calculation of lift coefficients for various aspect-ratio wings, dependent on the aerofoil section used. Design of leading edge slots and flaps is covered. Calculation of correct wing incidence angle and tail-plane design is covered.
Structural considerations are included. I used this book to design my 113″ span motor glider, which flew perfectly straight from the building board. This is testament to the book! If you are a mathematical dunce, you may find this book a bit difficult to follow. However, if you can get a copy, I would thoroughly recommend it.
