Cylinder Heads – Part 2

Progress in the last month or so has focused on machining the detailed features on the upper half of the cylinder heads.  This included the camshaft bearing housings, which were milled to shape, the bores for the bucket tappets, pilot holes for the valves, counter-boring the bolt holes and drilling the spark plug holes.

This was all done using a fixture set up on the rotary table, mounted in the vertical position on the milling machine.

I am making SOHC and DOHC versions of both the 5cc and 10cc singles, but I am making two interchangeable cylinder heads for the 20cc in-line 4, one SOHC and one DOHC.
